WHATS UR STORY

juan's big catch at the club quarry..

4.12 kg bass out my own back yard I went fishing a Friday afternoon after work off the side.

got to the dam with a light breeze, clear skies then making my first cast down the reeds with a white chartreuse spinner bait ,boom on a +- 1.5kg fish.

next cast, boom on again 1kg + fish now I am thinking what’s going on 2 descend fish 2 casts and it comes to mind pre spawn.

catching 20 + fish off the side that day was awesome all in the 1kg + range with a fat 2.8kg lady as well.

back of my mind with my PB At 2.95kg  I was thinking Sunday on boat = big fish!!!!!

Arriving at the dam with my dad fishing with me.

we started throwing top water and spinner bait with plenty 1kg mark fish being caught nothing bigger so I decided putting on a rappalla dt12 perch colour pulled it right next to reeds, first it felt if I got stuck on a reed and the next moment with my rod bending the other way and a fish jumping out the water my hart nearly stopped.

it’s a buss!!! After a tug of war i lipped the fish & pulled out a scale.     4.12kg  a new pb!!!!!

That weak we landed nearly 10 fish over the 3kg mark was the best ever fishing weak in my live.

Attached is some other pics of 3kg + fish caught that week unfortunately  I cannot get the big bass pic to open on my pc.

oh and she is swimming in one of the club dams at my work!!!

nuno's big catch at homestead dam..

caught this 3kg female off the side at homestead dam benoni in the east rand..

i was using baby carp lippless crank when at first i thought i was hooked on a branch but then my line started moving from side to side.

what a feeling it was to see the sheer size once i hade lipped her..

after a few pics and kisses i let her swim back to her home...

THEO'S once in a life time catch

VAUGHNS 3.2KG PB

Two weeks before a Money Trail comp at Theewaterkloof Dam myself and then boat partner decided on an early pre fish.

It was October and right about spawn season. We headed to a well known spot `Eagle Island’, it was mid week and not another boat in site.

This area is simply, pitch the bigger standing timber, wait for the take. I think it was my 5th cast, hit a big tree and on the drop noticed my line swimming away. I set the hook and knew immediately it was a pig!

I called to my mate and he simply said `I’m busy, you’re on your own’. Then he saw it surface and dropped his stuff and grabbed the net!

After a short intense fight we landed the 3.2kg beast and I confirmed her as my new PB!

She ate a Big Bite Baits YoMama – Thilapia

That was a good day!

Ridimo's day out at de-hoop

So just got back from dehoop and all I can say is it was TOUGH......also my wife outdo shed me......AGAIN. We managed a total of 15 fish on Friday and 15 on Saturday with the smallest just under a kilo and the largest at around 2.5kg. The Average was at about 1.5-1.6kg and dirty fighting fish. With the weather being cold it was on deep banks and drop offs that we found most of our fish. The remaining came out of thick thorn bush and grass and funny enough with a spinner. The rain came hard and fast on Friday afternoon and we just managed to dodge the worst of it by making that 225hp work very hard all the way from the waterfall back to launch. Saturday started off extremely slow and seemed to set the pace for the rest of the day with at times a fish only coming onto the boat once every hour or so. It was on a shallow rock that that has a massive crack in it that we pulled the 2.5kg beast out and immediately after that a 1.8kg. We also noticed that the fish were hiding in grass patches where they could ambush the bait as we cruised it between the trees. The main thing that was worrying is that the water level is almost disturbing. From January to now there were a few spots that are now completely out of the water. Advantage to that is being able to see that when the water level rises we know where these fish will spawn. Apart from all that the main thing I take from this trip is that you can never truly fish bass until you know how to pitch properly. And that electronics in weather like that is so important. Anyway that's that I suppose.

Tight lines boys

What a day.

Tatiana (10yrs) - 1.2KG PB and 3 species  (Bass Barbel Kurper) She was so excited. caught 3 before I managed to pour breakfast tea. She was on fie won the day with most fish (9 for the day not counting the barbel and Kurper)

Eva (7yrs) - 800g PB she caught 4 for the day literally her first ever fishing trip out.

PappaGee - 2.32KG PB (5th PB for 2017) also landed 7 for the day. I won heaviest fish.

Little competition between us on the boat. i also made a little movie so that they can play it over and over on their cell and pad. Till today they still cannot stop talking about it. Clearly it made a BIG impression on them. They cannot wait to go back.
